VW Golf A5 Variant RHD, 13-pin Electrical Installation Kit
Before starting work read the installation instructions.
The electrical installation kit may only be fitted by qualified specialists.
Follow guidance in the current repair manual when carrying out installation work on the vehicle.
The ABS control unit must be recoded for activation of the trailer stabilisation system.
Caution - disconnect battery
Damage to the vehicle electronics may result in loss of stored electronic data.
Before starting work read out error memory.
Note
When fitting, pay particular attention to the following points:
• Wiring must not be pinched or damaged.
• All seals must be properly seated.
• The seal for the socket must be positioned on the insulating sleeve and not on the individual wires.
• Route wiring so that it does not chaff against the vehicle or break off.
• Do not route wiring immediately next to the exhaust system.
Failure of a trailer light (also the indicators, not reversing light and rear fog light) is shown by the lamp failure indicator on the instrument panel. There is no additional warning lamp (C2) in the vehicle for checking the turn signal indicators on the trailer.
For trailer operation the rear fog light of the towing vehicle is disabled.
A rear fog light must be retrofitted on trailers not already equipped with one.
A socket adapter may only be used in trailer operation. Remove the socket adapter when trailer operation is not in use.
Check the operation of the trailer using a trailer or test equipment with load resistances.
Technical changes reserved!

BMW Wiring Repair Procedure for Firing Circuits of Airbag Systems
Damaged or defective wires and connectors (e.g. chaffed insulation, broken connector pins, torn crimping) in airbag firing circuits, will cause the airbag light (SRS light) to illuminate, and will set fault code "resistance too high" in airbag control module.
It is acceptable to repair (replace) individual pairs of firing circuit wires by using "Airbag Repair Cable" kits, crimping connectors and insulation shrink tubing. Part numbers for the assortment of "Airbag Repair Cable" kits are listed in the BMW Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC) sections 61 12 19, and 61 12 40. A detailed repair procedure can be found in the BMW Technical Information System (TIS), Repair Instruction RA 72 12 à "Repairing airbag cables".
IMPORTANT:
-- Only one crimping connector can be fitted into a single wire of the airbag firing circuit.
-- The firing circuit wires cannot be lengthened as a result of the repair.
-- Any damage to wires or connectors (for the side airbag firing circuit) in the door wiring harness must be repaired by replacing the entire door wiring harness.

Ford Mustang Wiring Diagram for 1987-1993 Instrument Cluster
If you are attempting to install a 1990-1993 steering wheel in a 1987-1989 car, then the steering column must also be changed. All
connections will hook up in the steering column except for the harness from the steering wheel, which provides the horn and cruise control signal. The windshield wipers will not work if the 1990-1993 switch is used on the 1987-1989 harness. Testing with a multimeter will show you the wires that Ford chose to move when the design of the switch changes. All controls have the same wiring except the windshield wipers. After the correct wires are determined, it is an easy task to remove the wires from the plug by pressing down on the tab on the front of the plug and sliding the wire out the back. Then, the wire can be inserted into the previously unused connection hole on the plug.
This process if much easier if you have an old harness from a 1990-1993 that comes out of the instrument cluster. The wires need to be as long as possible (6-8 inches), and they can be successfully wire tapped and soldered to the factory 1987-1989 harness.
